The band I played with had the same set-up you have now. Powered active speakers in-ears and no backline amps. We went to see a local R&B/Classic rock band using 3 pas systems 2 B1'S each for bass and drums.
Their sound was as loud as it needed to be[no pain] dynamic and the SAME[this is important] everywhere we stood in the club. We have since sold the old system and bought the BOSE PAS. Benifits: a. Much quicker set-up and teardown time approx 15 min. b. Easy carrying no back problems c. It all plus 6 instruments and various stands fits in mini-van with back seats up! d. Feel more part of the event not using in-ears e. The best part; The audience hears what you hear![our in-ear mix was fine but I never new what the audience was hearing] Their are many more benefits that will be shared in this post or found already on this forum if you search. With are original set-up I thought it was the best you could do for working/creating band for sound, ease of load and set-up. The BOSE PAS shatterd that illusion. - NEBADON2000, July 28, 2005 - full thread here |
