Well, we finally got to stretch the legs on our systems. We played an outdoor private party. we were setup on a one acre lot towards the back. There were about 100 people in attendance and they were placed between us and the house. There are four people in the band, myself on bass with a 2 sub system, 2 guitar players, each with a single system (no sub) and a drummer playing roland v-drums into a single sub system augmented with a carvin powered sub.We each had vocals out of our own systems. The reviews were great. The sound was amazing to say the least, we had that real fat bottom that we like so much. We of course got the "what the heck is that" questions. It was interesting, people kept telling us to turn it up, but no one complained about not being able to talk etc. We never did turn up. In fact the police came at the end of the evening so I guess the sound carried and we were loud enough. Luckily, due to the quick tear down, we were already packed up by the time they showed up. Here is the one thing I hate to admit. There was a pool fence around the perimeter of the yard then dirt beyond that. We set some plywood down on the other side of the fence, placed our systems on that, and we played inside the fence. I set my system up and put 1 of my cases over the top of the L1 to keep dirt out. I was fat and happy with my sound and then realized at the end of the first set I left my cover on! It sounded really nice after that........! I think it would have been apparent faster with my old ampeg rig with the cover on.... All in all, cannot wait to get in a club and do it again.
