As a follow up to my previous post, we now have 4 L1's and 5 B1's. Average setup & teardown time within 25->30 minutes, we probably are setting up quicker than tearing down, mostly due to the distractions after a gig as opposed to a fairly empty location during setup.
Our band trailor & PA have been sold. I loaned my small Peavey PA out to a prospected buyer whom is now doing a 2 piece sequence during the week. He investigated on 2 occasions our L1's and still very interested in the entire system for his band. (Seperate from the 2 piece). We see a potential need for 2 more B1's/packlite, but for now, we are more focused on establishing some types of transporting for our systems aside from the standard carry on cases. The carry on's work great and seem to be a perfect accomodation for a solo or duo artist. But, with the addition of 4 L1's and 5 B1's, the number of overall pieces have increased as opposed to our convential system, for now, we are hand carrying everything, though I'm used of sliding our dolly underneath and gone, up the ramp and in the trailor. We just need to find a rythum and work togethor, I believe, with continutiy, we can be picked up in 15 minutes. Still, all and all, I'm much more fresher at the end of the night, leave my house near 30-45 minutes later, and even can drive further distances and still arrive at home no later than 2:00am, again, another huge improvement. I love playing and do quite alot, but having teenagers, me and my wife want to be able to return home as soon as available. Having this new concept, has allowed for me personally, to balance music and life, plus the following; #1 Hear myself clearer, #2 Consolidate our equipment #3 Removed our bass amp #4 Got me thinking about a Pod XT #5 Leave my house 30-45 minutes later #6 Offers flexibility and portablility for different size venues #7 Captures people's attention #8 Less strain on back/neck/shoulders #9 Quicker pickup time #10 Reduces wear/tear on my bass players truck #11 Removes maintance cost of trailor (tires, axle, etc..) #12 Evenly distributes sound throughout venue, stage, etc.. I would like to thank Bose for featuring our band on the artist page. ~Todd Matherne September 12, 2006~ full thread here |
