This is a quick report to say I've received my new T1 to go with my now Classic PAS, and I'm loving it. Because I play 3 acoustic stringed things on stage, with different pickups and gain/volume needs, I've been using a Yamaha AG stomp with a Whirlwind multiselector. It's been great, but I've missed out on those terrific Taylor presets, and have had a large pedalboard to haul around.
No more. Yippee ki-YAY. The T1 ROCKS. It didn't take me long to plug in per the handy manual, and find the presets for my Taylor grand auditorium (strum)6-string and Taylor jumbo (strum) 12 string. I tried various settings for my Brock large bouzouki (a.k.a. cittern) with McIntyre pickup (passive) and settled on Acoustic Guitar Flat. Worked like a charm and was easy to EQ with zEQ and a dab of ParaEq. It was easy and fun to add effects, especially since everything sounds so good I didn't need much. Just a touch of 'verb. I will experiment with more outside what I need for the band. But at the moment, I've got my vocal mic and guitars DIALED into user scene "Mary Banshee" and ready for a big gig this weekend. If anybody's near La Canada-Flintridge, CA, come to Descanso Gardens this Sunday at 2 if you'd like to check it out. I should add that I also ran it into my Fender Acoustisonic amp, which I use for cafe gigs now and then. I just set all the knobs on the amp to '5', disabled the effects, and then turned up the T1. Sounded just fine with my PAS settings, though I will spend time in the future tweaking creating a separate user scene for the amp. Plugged it back into the L1 and sighed all over again. What a system. Mary -MBanshee, July 11, 2007 Full Thread Here |
