I cannot believe how terrific it is to record directly onto my Laptop Hardrive with the T1 and the USB cable hookup.
I used to feed a Powered mixer with my Laptop tracks and then route back into a Mini Disc Recorder, along with our Mikes and Guitar. Then I would take the Mini Disc via the Optical output from the recorder and into a Creative Audigy 2 back to my desktop and rerecord into Adobe Audition or Audacity. Time consuming and just plain tedious. Now with the T1, I que up my tracks with an application called RoxBox, which lets me set a record flag on the track que and then will automatically take the USB to PC from the T1 and record it to a directory on the hardisk, with that trackname. I can then directly playback, edit with Audition, etc, etc. This is totally awesome. The quality is excellent, and there are no extra steps. I have also found that it is an excellent way to practice new material (I like to practice using headphones, with a mono adapter in the Master out)and then play it back to review any spots for improvement. I cannot believe I initially had reservations about spending the money for the T1, as now it is definately one of the best pieces of gear that I own.
