Hi just thought I`d post my thoughts after my first week with the L1 with 2 Bass units.Firstly,as it arrived without the T1,I used it with a rack mixer without EQ, and a TC electronics FX unit.All 5 gigs were outdoors,some long,some wide...a few were restaurants,and one was a private party. I sing,play saxes and flute thru a Sennheiser wireless mic,and use largely self produced backing tracks.
I really didn´t need reverb!!Seemed to muddy up the sound.Didn´t need to strain my voice...Everything down to a whisper was clearly audible.My flute sound was gorgeous,Saxes natural sounding,and because the backing music was so clearly defined intonation was so much easier.Previously the volume on stage was such that I couldn´t hear myself properly.I found myself playing and singing with much greater sensitivity and precision.Every night I had people commenting on the lovely sound,and the Spanish waiters last night,who have been listening to me for 3 years now,were Raving about it..`Mas que Perfecto`
The dispersion is incredible....on a wide terrace,where I play in the middle,people at the sides normally don´t hear much...but now they`re standing up and cheering!!
OK, as you can see I`m very pleased and excited.The end of many years of frustration,and a chance to improve my musicianship on stage.No more practicing to achieve a beautifull sound,only to go on stage and play harshly due to poor amplification.
All my doubts are gone.The system is loud enough to work well outdoors..I maxed it out at the party...no problem.I suffered NO feedback problems even at full volume...and I use the same mic for everything...No close micìng on saxes!Also not needing reverb...which I thought was a bit unlikely.. is True..and I can see using it as an `effect`now ,and not a necessity.
