Last night we had another one of our Musicians' / Bose shindigs. That is, basically a party for Musicians and I had L1's on the stage for all who want to use them.

I don't know who among us thought it would be a good idea to have this party on Thanksgiving 'eve' as it was here in Canada, but as a result, we had a smaller turnout than usual.

A couple of us were playing and a woman walks in with a Bass on her back. "Mind if I join you".

There was nothing that she couldn't play. I mean we just kept coming up with songs and she was right in there, brilliant lines, stunning harmonies, old, new, originals. It was all I could do to keep playing at times.

I ran the Guitar line intro to Summertime from the Big Brother and the Holding Company version. She hit the Bass line and started singing. Not Janis but with a power and purpose all her own. She brought the room to a standstill.

We all got chatting later.

We: "Would you be interested in a doing some work with us?"

She: "If it means I would get to play through one of THOSE, then I'm in!"
