We did an outdoor show (street fair, actually) the last weekend in June on a flatbed truck as a stage. Same type of crowd, etc. and our audience response was great. I'm part of a 4-person acoustic group, and between instrumentation and mics, we fill up two of the Bose PAS for our sound. We set the keys, drums and two mics up on the truck bed, with our vocalist/guitar player and me (covering guitar, bass and mando) in fron to f the truck position on a two-foot high riser.

Being slightly below the PAS modules, I had no trouble hearing myself in my module or the rest of the group coming from the other module. The sound carried well into the fair area, and did it's job nicely. We were cranked up a bit higher than we are for indoor gigs, but that didn't affect the sound much. It was most noticeable in the low end of the bass parts - any sort of slap or snap on the G or D strings came out like a pistol shot.

Bottom line: no worries.
