My duo played one of our regular gigs yesterday afternoon at a retirement home.

A lady who had never seen our show was speaking with my partner Joelle while we were packing up. I was almost done packing when the lady looked at me and thanked us for not using any speakers. Seeing the puzzled look on my face she gestured holding a microphone and speakers on sticks and added that most performers used speakers and were alway way too loud! She then added that our show felt like "sitting in a living room". We then smiled and explained the "black stick" to her...
