I own a small music club and was looking for a house PA system. We had Theresa Andersson & The Craft Brothers perform and she used 1 basic package and 1 single bass package. They sounded fantastic. It was the best sound I have heard and we have been doing live music for 8 years. There was a lead and back up singer, 1 violin/guitar, 1 cello, and 1 guitar/ violin. That set up seemed ideal for that group. My question is, what setup would I need for a house PA? A salesman has told me that I should get 2 single bass packages. We mostly have 3,4 and 5 piece bands play here. Generally power rock trios occasionally accompanied by a keyboard and or a saxophone. Many times there will be 2 guitars 1 bass and 1 drum kit. Where the music is performed has 14' ceilings with brick walls and cement floors. The room is 25' x 50' in a rectangular shape with a 15' x 20' stage at the very front right corner of the rectangle. There is an identical room attached by a 15 foot opening but it is a game room and we are not overly concerned how well they can hear the music in the game room. Normally bands bring in PA's with Double 18" cabinets and blast our ears off and it really does make some customers very uncomfortable. So we don't need something that big. Which set up would you suggest that would be most accommodating to the bands that play and to the customers that enjoy listening? Our budget right now is about $5000. Any advice you could give would be appreciated.
Thanks,
