I can not get the rim's to change to a different sound. I've tried everything according to the manual, can somebody help?

Please refer your question to the V-drums Forum.

Have the model of your drum sound module ready when you post your question, it will help.
(Roland modules require a "TIP-RING-SLEEVE" cable for transmission of dual-trigger pads, a typical guitar/instrument cable will not work...check that first).
