Two copies of OTS here also. It does need a visual over haul but it is rock solid and that is the number 1 thing you should look for in DJ software. Sound quality and performance are excellent.

I've been using MegaSeg since I went digital in 2003, and it has NEVER (that's n-e-v-e-r!!!!) crashed!

I've used it on G-4 Titanium, Aluminum G-4, and currently, my MacBook Pro.

Unbelievably versatile and sound!

I've been using Virtual DJ for over 3 yrs and I love it. The best part? Each and every full upgrade is FREE! I've been using it since 4.0 and it is now up to 6.x and I've never been charged for any of the upgrade. I have the windows version, but guess what. I can have the Mac version for...you got it...FREE!

No plugins necessary for video or karaoke. It's all native and they continue to improve the sound with each version. Numark has even jumped on the bandwagon with their version of VDJ. Did I mention that all upgrades are FREE? LOL

I've had Ots for (I guess) about 8 or 10 years and I've also never paid for an upgrade.

Traktor Pro and Traktor Scratch Duo are our primary VDJ apps. These run on PC or Mac and sound quality with the product is very high. The effects are widely regarded as some of the cleanest available. The interface is really easy to work with, settings quick to get to/change, upgrades are free, the community is very active, and runs rock solid.

However, you can only run a single sound card. So, cueing is an issue with ToneMatch. Also, Native Instruments continues with the assumption that changing your MP3 tags is acceptable (I change all my files to Read Only - and have multiple backups). Also, they use a proprietary playlist format. This requires conversion of M3U files.

We also have Virtual DJ 6 (runs PC or Mac as well) and MixMeister Studio. As mentioned by a previous poster, MixMeister is very nice for re-mixes. Virtual DJ is a solid option for live. It does allow for multiple sound cards. Additionally, sound quality is much improved in version 6. The community is fairly active, and there are plenty of skins to chose from.

I strongly suggest trying the demos of any product prior to purchase. Also, if you are on PC, get DPC Latency Checker to troubleshoot audio issues. The program is free Smile

Hey dOoOb, not a club DJ, but I use Serato Itch with my NS7...

Works great, better than Scratch Live imo, because you don't need the keyboard for anything except looking for songs. And if your crates are solid then you wouldn't even need it then.

Hi all. i am new to the site. just bought my L1 Mk2 2xB1 + T1. . I have been a karaoke / DJ in England now for 4 years and for the last week my Back has never felt better. . . . .
I have been using PCDJ VJ for the last 12 months, this programme is very user friendly. it supports most Vids, and is great for karaoke. Try the demo and see for yourself.

I used to use PCDJ FX, and that used to crash one in a while. Then because of my friends and my interest in Music Videos, I went to Virtual Dj. It just does so much and is easy to use.

I have heard so many positive things about OTSDJ. But I get the sence most use it to auto mix and I don't like that you have to use a propriotry file format. Had that same problem with PCDJ files bought from their online download service. can't use them elsewhere.

The Newmark program and PCDJ VJ are just copies of Virtual DJ.
