Ever since I have purchased my L1's I have been testing it in different application & it has always exceeded my expectations. This Test however was a fluke because I had no idea there was going to be this many people. It was a send off meal and ceremony for our National Guard which was being deployed to Iraq.
We were set up in the corner of the very large with high celling drill room. I only brought 1 L1 because I figured there would only be about 125 attending. There were over 300. I would have brought 2 if I would have know how many were going to show. Now the pressure was on! I was instructed to play some patriotic music before and during dinner after which a ceremony would be held using my PA and cordless mic. The music filled the room with clean & rich sound. I only had it up a quarter of the way. I had brought 2 B1's but ended up unplugging 1 because 2 created too much bass (the place was an echo chamber). What impressed me the most was the ceremony. With just 1 L1 you could hear every word the speakers said any where in that room. It wasn't loud but it was loud enough. Even in the way back and to the right I would say at the very edge of the 180 dispersion pattern) you could hear every word clear as a bell. It that range about 75 yards you could hear it about as loud as it is when you are having a conversation with some one face to face. Perfect- Thank You Bose DJ JD * I got tons of complements! Hi DJ JD!
What a confidence builder!!! Good job and those are nice pictures showing the coverage area of your single L1 system. Was the "too much bass" the only issue you had? |

Yes> I couldn't even turn it up all the way because of where the speaker was positioned . He was slightly in front of the L1> so I'd got about half volume before feedback & you could still hear every word anywhere in the room!

Thats for the report on the single L1 capabilities - as my current system consists of just one L1 stick and im always thinking "what if".

JD Bass I don't know if it was intentional or not but looking at your avatar with out focusing on it it looks like a crown. To bad you don't call yourself something like Crown or Royal entertainment it would be a very cool trick on graphics.

Maybe you could have a tag line like "We give you the royal treatment."

Yes the crown/ lighting look of our avatar was intentional. As for changing our name we had our company name 12 years before our logo. I think we are too recognized around the area with our present name to change it now. But I like your idea. I often wondered how hard it would be to change ones name with out loosing business.???

Ok here is part 2 of the ultimate test. I did the sound for our town annual memorial day ceremony. Last year I had jbl's & also I didn't get the power on til people started showing up.
No sound checks at all! So needless to say & had a few issues with the sound. This time I had Bose on my side! I could have used just 1 L1 but I wanted to vindicate my self from the previous year. There were about 400 people there not including the high school band. Here is my report: First> It was very easy to set up compared to my set up last year. Second> The lack of sound drop off was staggering. As you walked away from the stage the volume seamed to stay the same all the way out to the highway which was at least 100 yards away from the stage. The sound was very even & extremely clear. Wow was all I could say. Third> I had quite a number of people going out of there way to say how wonderful the sound was. Forth> I played some patriotic music before & after the ceremony. Before when I was testing my levels I cranked up one of the songs (keep in mind I only had 1 B1 per-side) & it sounded like a rock concert! Fifth> There was a musical act in the program. A trio of females singing the Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy song by the Andrew sisters. We play a music track off of a CD as they all huddled around a mic & sang. They also had a Bugle Boy. (see pic 4) It sounded fantastic, just like a professional recording! Thank You Bose! We've Got The Tools, We've Got The Talent! Ghostbusters |

with one L1 and the way that cove is on the stage, this is simply a cakewalk for the L1 with room to spare.
JD, good pics. May I suggest you get the 45 degree cable packages on ebay : see http://bose.infopop.cc/eve/for...961019284#7961019284 |

Dynamite I did shut one L1 off just to see how it sounded & it sounded good. Don't forget I was in a position that I really wanted to impress the town folk. Basically I do this every year for good PR. I barely had the L1's up at all. I got some right angle cords coming. Thanks Guys!
