I just made an order through the old DJ supply store that I have been dealing with for years & couldn't believe what happened.
First off let we explain that I have been doing business with this company for over five years now & we are on a first name basis. I had bought all my old PA gear through this store JBL/QSC & allot of it. I mentioned to the sales rep it's too bad you don't sell Bose down there & the whole conversation took a 180. It was like I just said a really dirty word very loudly in the middle of a church service. The sales rep that I though was my "friend" became a bit rude & closed off then preceded to cut me off when I was telling him what I liked about the Bose L1 system. He said "we carry Community, JBL & Mackies we don't need anything like that around here". Then he rushed me off the phone by saying "as long as your order was finished...". This guy has been my sales rep for at least two & a half year & wouldn't give me the time of day after I said the word Bose. To all the people at Bose, I think you've got all the other PA companies & the ones who sell their gear SCARED! We've Got The Tools, We've Got The Talent! Ghostbusters |

That was just bad business practice, one that occurs often.
Don’t you hate it when a salesman tells you what you want because they don’t carry what you really want? I walk away feeling like I was manipulated and usually never go back there again. |

I agree with Lou.
I don't care what you sell. When you bad mouth the competition or anything like that, it ends up sounding like sour grapes. He should be proud of what he sells. Community, JBL, and Mackie are fine companies. The reality is he did you a favor. He showed his true colors. He showed that he was not interested in you having want you want. He was interested in selling something to you. One of the great experiences I've had with Bose is feeling the exact opposite. I get the impression that they really want me to have what will work for me. I know they'd like to sell products, but it seems that they've found by being a trusted adviser, people will come to them when a product really will fit their needs. One of the greatest responses I heard from Bose is when someone asked about Bose making a certain product, the answer was that there is already a perfectly fine product like that made by someone else. Bose's approach seems to release products WHEN IT'S BETTER or DIFFERENT than what is available now. Sometimes a product from a different company is what would work best for your situation. Many times a Bose product will fit your needs. That's why I love the 45 day trial, so the individual can decide for themselves instead of relying on info they get from someone with an agenda. |

So will will you be going back to him for any other gear in the future?
I think I would tell he that he really blew it. Music By Mike Huntsville, Al |

I would also suggest another take on it, if he is 'dissing' Bose he is also 'dissing' you and your judgement, as you have purchased the product. I've been in sales just about all my working life and one of the big no no's is you should never speak badly of the competition. No matter what your personal views are on a product, simply say "they're good but I prefer xyz because ..."
What you've experienced is a classic example of what not to do in a sales situation. His loss, without a doubt! This message has been edited. Last edited by: DJ Silver, This is Dj Silver saying good night world .. wherever you are. |

It's a shame that some people are determined to be brain dead cavemen and insist on living in the dark ages. It's one thing this guy doesn't care for Bose but it's a whole other thing to be so disrespectful to you and act like such a rude jerk. Especially since you were such a loyal, long time customer.
Hit 'em where it hurts most... his pocket book. Tell him how rude he was to you and that you're taking your business elsewhere from now on. End of story. |

I could care less what anyone thinks about my BOSE. All the conventional speaker / Bose haters can just ________________
I'm proud to be a BOSE owner, glad I made the purchase in Oct 2006 and never have regretted my purchase! I've never received any negative comments from guests or venue managers or vendors...only positive ones. The venue manager at this venue... ...said that she loved my set up. Sorry it took me a while to respond back, no I don't think I will be ordering anything from him again. He blew it & that's that. I do feel all the Bose haters are secretly afraid because the L1's are a bit of an enigma. Even us Bose L1 users don't fully understand the amazing technology that Bose has created in the L1. Thank you Bose, for such an amazing system in which i can entertain with out causing pain You are true visionaries & I look forward to the journey that lies ahead!
