Last night, I did a corporate party, around 300 people. I was going to use 2 systems, using 1 remotely. It was an odd shaped place at the Great Lakes Science Center.

Where I was set up, the dance floor was in front of me and then the tables were off to the left of the dance floor...

Scott,

It sounds like there is more to this story.
Please elaborate.

sorry...i was trying to post a pic and accidentally sent it...and then couldn't edit it.

anyway....

I was set up a good distance away from the crowd ..probably over 100 feet between me and the nearest table..the whole event was on a odd shaped floor overlooking an atrium.

I put just one L1 model on a small table that just came up to my knees. Even with the dance floor packed, the sound was great on the other side of the room.

Even with the large crowd and the distance, the music and my mic sounded great in the back. I believe the table made a big difference.

Scott,
I agree 100%. I picked up a couple of (4’long, $37) tables from Wal-Mart, sawed the legs just low (or high) enough to be able to conceal my subs underneath (about 18") and skirted them.
It makes all the difference in a crowded room. I often use one in a 5000 sq ft hall with several hundred people, no problem.

JD,
I saw in one set up pic of yours(very nice, BTW) that you had your systems on what looked like cases. How did that work for you?

Actually very well, they are my old SKB 10 space roller cases. One of them is empty & one case a QSC PLX 1602 & a Bose a Controller/Crossover for my 802's. It's gives the L1's about a foot more clearance over the crowd so you can hear it at the back of the room.
Back when I was a pack mule & had my JBL/QSC/DBX set up each of those boxes had 1) QSC PLX 1602 amp, 1) QSC PLX 3402 amp & 1) DBX Driverack PA!
Pack then at each box weighing over 55lb I thought I had the "lightest most powerful" set up around. Smile
Thank you Bose, for making my life so much easier & better through you L1 family!

Sorry, no. I'm getting some pleated skirting specifically (been using a DJ skirt) to match the short table to my booth. Maybe some pix when I get the new skirting.

I actually did a wedding at the 5000 sq ft venue this week. I didn't use the table and the sound was notably poorer. Sort of hollow and, once the dance floor filled up, the sound at the back of the room was weak compared to the elevated L1. Depending on the circumstances, 18 inches makes a difference.

When you do get some pic's feel free to share them. I'm interested to see how the tables look with out the skirt & in use. I might have to consider it to get that extra 6 inches of height. Any one else have elevated L1 pics with the use of tables?

We definitely want to say that the L1 systems are not designed to stand on the B1 systems.

I have been thinking about this a little bit. I'm kind of thinking about two 4 foot tables setup sideways on stage that have adjustable legs and having a DJ Skirt on each one.

Our new years party is about 400 people and we have a wedding in December of about 350. I know I wanted to raise the Bose Just not sure how I want to do it.

Another thought was a 6 foot table with adjustable legs and skirt that and have the L-1's in front given the lack of space I will have at both these events.

I'm considering using On Stage T Stands under my L1 M1's (24" high) with a pleated skirt around the leading and side edges of the L1. I'm just not sure if I should use the big or the small T Stands.

I currently use a the smaller T Stand for my SKB DJ Stations. They are rock solid up to 250 and 300 Lbs.

here's something to consider: http://cgi.ebay.com/Studio-T-S...26otn%3D10%26ps%3D63 this is what Lou is talking about.

of course you would need to get a board on top cut to the correct size to put the PS on.

Thanks, good price even with the shipping!
I just ordered one to see if it's the real deal and to experiment with. It is the bigger of the 2 T Stands and may be a bit large for the Model 1.If it does work, I will pick up another.

Here is a pic of the smaller T Stand with one of my L1's. While it looks on the small side it feels solid. One could run a strap from below the B1’s across the top of the Model 1 for some low end weight and added security.
NOT RECOMMENDED BY BOSE!

WoW! I like that even better. Is that the same type of stand? Dimensions and all?

Heck, just get a skirt and velcro it around the bottom side part of the PS. Open in the back of course.

Actually run a strap around the PS and the stand itself. Black of course.
That stand is on my list.

Exactly!
Here are the specs on the 2 On-Stage T Stands The smaller WS 8540 is in the picture and the larger 8550 is the one I just bought from ebay. I think the larger stand might stick out in the back of the Model 1 but might also provide more piece of mind. That said, this thing is not easy to knock over and, if it were secured to the table or B1's with a strap, almost impossible, (in my opinion anyway)

Again... Bose Does not recommend or endorse this!.

WS 8540
Weight Capacity: 300 lbs
Height Adj: 24"-37-1/2"
Width Adj: 16"-29"
Depth Adj: 14"-16-1/2"

WS 8550
Weight Capacity: 250 lb.
Height Adj: 24"-37-1/2"
Width Adj: 29"-45"
Depth Adj: 17"-27""

After some measurements and calculations, I’m sticking with the smaller WS 8540
