Hey there, has anyone ever used two Packlites with a pair of 802's (mod. III)? Would it be a good match in terms of power? I would be using the Bose crossover (that is silver in color) that I got with my 802's. I'll be running the speakers in full range. I did a test & they sounded rather nice. What are your thoughts?

I thought I'd sneak this one in because I'm using a member of the L1 family. A distant cousin to the L1 I think, but still family. Smile

I only use the Mod. III's for one gig every year. The Polar Plunge. I want to get rid of my old QSC PLX 1602 amp & run only Bose sound all the time! The 1602 is the last of my old-school PA equipment.

No place for an L1

I'd like to here your thoughts on this.

Hi jdbassentertainment,

Do you have a Classic? (What I am going to suggest will NOT work with a Model I)

If so you can use your PS1 Power Stand to drive your 802s in much the same way as you would using a couple of PackLites. After you hear that you can decide if you want to get the PackLites.

How?

REMOVE the Cylindrical Radiator®s and B1 connection from the Power stand

On the Classic Input panel - far right side you will see some ¼ inch jacks

Amp 1 IN
Amp 2 IN

I would take the output side of the 802 signal processor and run into those inputs.

You will need a speakon to ¼ inch jack adapter to connect to the 802s using. (You will need these if you go with PackLites anyway)

Amp 1 Out → 802
Amp 2 Out → 802

That's it. You will be running just as you would with a couple of PackLites.

That is 125 Watts into 8 ohms.

If you are willing to run mono then you may get very similar output running both 802s off one of the Amps outs. This would be like running both 802s of one Packlite.

That is 250 watts into 4 ohms.

Try it both ways.

Please let us know what you hear.

Jdbassentertainment let us know how the 802's sound w/ the packlites. I own two packlites and if they work well w/ the 802's and controler i might consider purschasing a pair of the 802's and a controler for out door gigs when its a chance of rain. The 802's are weather resistant right ?

Yes actually it sounds very good (not as good as the L1's ofcoarse) & yes the 802's are weather resistant. Go for it if you have the cash.
