I have recently been using 90dbs as my upper limit for my DJ recorded peaks?

Using one Model 2 with two B1s and T1.

What is your db range?

Thanks

Thanks

Think I have confused on this question.

Let me ask it another way:

What is your decibel range on your music 4 feet from the L1 when you use your system in public?

Thanks

Dance Host-

I have a suspicion that most Dj don't use sound meters and basically, using there experience, adjust the sound by judging the acoustical dynamics.

I have a Radio shack sound meter but have never used it live. I bought it just in case I ran into a venue manager that insisted on keeping the volume at a predetermined sound level.

On the otherhand, I have used my SPL meter smatphone app that installs on my Iphone. It's not seriously accurate but for a quick check it does okay.

Here's the Meter I have in my gig bag:

Hi Prof,

I have tried professional meters and the RS model and they are consistent but my phone app is way off.

I got into it because I had some customers who brought in meters and would leave if there were many 85 db peaks.

Do appreciate your response.

Has anyone else been called out on volume?

I have also been called out for being too low on volume.

I try to equate all of my files but find I must ride the gain with my T1. The dials are very sensitive and my file composistions do vary.

Hi Dance Host,
Wouldn't this all be quite subjective? Some peoples' hearing is less or more than others, some just don't like a particular song so they would like that to be less loud than their favorite songs which they would like louder. MOST people are fine with the volume I choose and monitor by my ear from my position and odd walk about, (with that particular audiences' age/wants respected) however there is the odd time that someone asks for the music to be turned up or down, sometimes to my amusement, almost at the same time. It's funny to have that wonderful rare occassion where that occurs exactly at the same time leaving the two different opinions to "interact" with each other in front of me while I simply smile Smile LOL
