Ok I'll be the first but I know I won't be the last to post a pic. We did karaoke at a nice bar named The Other Place in Iron River, WI. This was the 4rd time we had been there in the last two months. All of other times we used 1 L1 Mod. 1 & two B1's.

The place is rather long but not very wide. I'd say 100x40'. We play on a 6" raised platform that's kind of fenced in (which is nice Razz).

We had received a few complaints that it was too loud various times. So this time I brought the L1c. Let me just say that it worked flawlessly. The bar owner who was already very impressed with our current system was blown away by the compact. All night he kept commenting on how great it sounded & how he could hear the music clearly anywhere in the bar. He now wants us to use the compact every time we play there. Thank you Bose!

It's a Gator G-Mix PU8. They have a pop-up adjustable top, pull out handle & wheels. They go for about $200. They also make a PU12 which has 12 spaces. Mine has 8.

Very Nice.

I'm also a composer of bass/techno electronic music. Other artist that made similar music would be: Techmaster P.E.B., Bass Boy, Bass 305 & DJ Magic Mike to name a few. So I just kept the same name for my DJ/karaoke biz. Now everyone knows me by JD BASS. Infact they don't even know my real name.

The JD= stands for my initials & the Bass for the genre of music that I make. Musically I've branched out to make songs from other genres besides the one I started with. I've also produced a few albums for some local artists in my studio. I also came out with six solo albums & 1 greatest hitsWink.

I've sold some music over the years but it's more underground than main stream so I haven't tried for a record deal or anything major. I should have my seventh album done by Christmas entitled- To Bass & Beyond.

I used the compact at the VFW annual picnic I do & I got allot of compliments on how it sounded. Plus once again it was easy to tear down at the end of my show- unlike my old JBL set-up.

I guess this counts- In this pic the Compact is being used as a monitor speaker for the karaoke performers. It's located on top of the B1's on the left. I ran an xlr to 1/4 inch cable from the closest L1's power base line out to the Compacts line input. Kind of an expensive monitor speaker Eek but hey I had it layin' around so what the heck- why not use it.

It worked OK where you see it positioned in the pic, but it much better the next time I set it up(four days later). This was because I took it off the B1's & positioned it more to the side of the singer in stead of in front on an angle. I then put one of the extension pieces in to give it some height. The compact now served as a monitor not only for the singers but for me as well.

The only down side of using the line out on PS is that you don't have any control over the volume. Of coarse some mixers have monitor controls, where as my does not. It wasn't a problem however I just got the volume adjusted to give me the highest gain before feedback then backed off a little bit from that. I had no issues with feedback from the Compact the second night at the fair, (when I pulled the Compact off the B1's) but the 1st (which is the setup in the pic) night I got some bass feedback. This was kind of strange since I'm only use to screeching highs or bellowing mids in terms of feedback, but it was definitely "bass feedback". So I wouldn't recommend putting the compact on the B1's.

Over all it was a great addition to the set-up. It helped the performers & me both hear what the audience was hearing. For the fun of it I tried turning it off & back on while i was singing & wow what a difference! I would definitely recommend if you have a karaoke gig, and a spare Compact sitting around bring it with you & experiment. I Know I will definitely be using it again as a monitor at the fair next year!

Thank You Bose!

Here's my L1 Compact® system used to provide the sound for a "Bride/Groom Story" video at a wedding at Bedford Springs Resort (PA). As a courtesy, I provided a spare laptop to run the DVD supplied by the client (father of bride), the LCD Projector, and the Sound System. It worked out wonderfully, and the sound was SO much better than any photographer/videographer's version of this same event. In fact, it was so good that the father of the bride came over afterwards and handed me $100 on the spot and said, "Wow! That was something!"

Here is a gig I did for the Chamber called Market Fest. They have this event every year & I was delighted to be hired & invited to be a part of it. Basically area retailers & local vendor sell their goods & advertise their services, mean while there are scare crow making contests, horse & buggy rides and good eats. Kind of a fall festival. Here's two pics. For gigs like this the Compact works out great!

and kinda hard to find in this one. The handtruck near the bench seat is part of the restaurants decoration. But the L1 compact is beside that. http://www.adynamitedj.com/Bose/Sine.JPG
