I've performed at this venue once before with Compacts and was encourage to go with Compacts again after a lot of positive feedback. I've also used an L1 M2 w/2 B1's and had way more power than I needed.

The compacts are running in stereo using a Numark DJIO external sound card to drive the audio. The volume green light never went into the yellow or red all night.

Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...332710550&lf=mh_lolz

Here's the view from behind the DJ table right after set-up. You can see my flight case housing the Mixtrack controller. A low end controller no doubt but given the click and play nature of swing dances, this shows my potential clients that I have the capability to bring the good stuff to their bigger events. 45 minute set-up. Most swing dance DJ's use a laptop running Itunes or some other music media player. I've even seen some using ipods. I'm not knocking what they do. When I do one of theses events (They don't pay much) it's purely a give back to the dance community and it allows me to show off what I can do for potential wedding clients. By the way, using my full featured Numark Mixdeck mixer here would be more trouble than it's worth weigh wise and set up wise. Yes, I still have the Mixdeck. Don't use it much though. At the next swing dance I do here I will use my T1 as the sound card so that I have more output/control options for Mics, etc. My wife and I will teach the free dance class before the dance. Last month we taught Cha cha and in June we'll teach Salsa. The wireless mic sound was adequate but a little lacking. Not having the T1 meant that I could only use one compact for mic audio. Again, it was okay but no optimal.

It is amazing at the power of the Compacts when used properly! I have used mine for so many different ways, I can't even remember. One thing I can say is that when I did an end of year DJ gig with the 2 Compacts in dual mono, the videographer said it was the BEST sound he ever had on video! This was for a Dance Team in a small gymnasium. Probably about 150 in attendance.

Bobby-

The first 2 gigs I did at this venue, I used my L1 M2 w/2 B1's. It was way over-kill. The last two times I've used dual compacts. First time in dual mono, 2nd time in stereo. I gig there again in June and will again set up dual mono because I want to use my T1.

I got rave reviews on all of the set-ups but like you said, people were particularly impressed at the sound from the Compacts. I had an ESW Sub under the table ready to go but as you can hear in the clip, the Compacts offered plenty of low end for this particular crowd. BTW: I was using my Numark DJIO sound card to run stereo. The DJIO is a neat little sound card that produces awesome sound. The downside of this card is that it only accepts one mic input. This means either using channel 1 of the compacts or swapping out receivers on the DJIO. The T1 solves that problem.

And just in case you didn't see this one from a while ago. This was on a dinner cruise ship. The sound is from two Compacts running in stereo (Numark DJIO sound card) with no external sub. There was a noticeable drop off in sound toward the back of the ship but again, the client was fine with this. They'd informed me that past DJ's were too loud and the family wanted not to offend older family members with a barrage of noise. The dance floor was small and the ceilings were low so the Compacts were the perfect choice. Another Bose DJ friend of mine did a gig on this boat and had to take off the top half of his L1.
