We did a wedding last night & I did the unthinkable. First let me say that I had never been to this venue before & there was supposed to be 150 guests. I was planning on using 1 L1 Mod. 1 & 4 B1's w/ a Packlite.

Well we started out by getting lost then when we got there we didn't have allot of time to set up. As we were setting up I noticed that I brought 2 bottom parts of the sticks! The room was very large as you will see from the pic's.

I sent my wife back home to retrieve the top stick (we were a good hour from HQ0. Boy did I feel dumb. I had been in a rush & thought I checked to make sure I had a top & a bottom O00PS! I had brought my new L1c as a back-up unit & now it was time to truly test it's power!

I used it for dinner music, announcements, the grand march, toasts, their first song and a few of the dollar dance song dance before my wife got back. The L1c saved the day! the dinner music sounded great & during the toasts I went out into the audience & checked the level. The best man wasn't even hitting reds at all & you could understand every word anywhere in the room. It was amazing!

Once my wife got back I popped the top on & finished out the night with the Mod. 1. Although the L1c worked very well for what I used it for I was glad once my wife got back. It was a younger crowd & they liked their booty shaking music. The L1c just lacks the punch of the L1 Mod.1 with 4 B1's especially in this size room.
In all every thing went very well. I know I've been saying this allot lately but --

Thank you Bose!

Side view of the room. This is a casino convention hall where they have some pretty big name act's perform.

I ordered my L1c last week from Musicians Friend. It arrived on Thursday but after setting it up, I could not get it to power up. No lights, nothing! The box did have a ding in the side but not that you would think could do that much internal damage.

I ordered another, this time from Bose, direct. It cost me an extra $72 for shipping and taxes (go figure) but Bose is charging my credit card over 12 months with no interest.

I plan to use it in 2 weeks for an outdoor wedding ceremony in a meadow using a jumpstarter for power. Should be interesting.

It is amazing outdoors. I haven't tried battery power yet, but I used it yesterday for an outdoor ceremony, it was hidden behind some shrubs, plenty of volume, in fact at one point found myself turning it down! Not to mention the quick tear down. I have used it 3 weeks in a row, twice outdoors and once indoors, and it has been great!

Oh yes I will. Wink On another note She likes the compact so much she wants me to get another one. She's great! She likes the portability & she's blown away by the sound that comes out of it! Me too.

Hi All

I bought my Compact today at GC and took it home and hooked up my Tonematch to it am very disappointed. I simply cannot get any volume out of it without a squeal. I have reset my gains on all the tonematch channels. ( two mic and a keyboard, I have not tried laptop yet ) IF I set the compact volume to 3 and the Master on the tonematch to 1 o'clock I can get decent volume but have to crank the indiv mic volume's almost all the way. I just don't understand. I can make my Model II perform like a pro and after reading the forum on the new compact I figured it would be a no brainier. I must be real dumb. I will try again tomorrow.

Good night everybody and thanks for listening.

Hello,
That was quick thinking.I believe if you would have lined-out of the Compact into the Mod 1 you would have had a great sound with both combined, even with just one stick. You certainly would have had the bottom end.I'll have to remember this scenerio. If you forget the bottom stick then your only option would be the Compact by itself. Thanks for sharing - J.D.

Hello AJ,
No need to feel this way.The Compact was designed to work vocal direct in for optimum performance.Although it may work with the T1,that is not the intent.

Well, here is an update! It's morning and I awoke early and decided to "have another go" at trying to figure out why my "new compact" was not performing up to my expectations with my Tonematch. I had tried everything except "moving" it. I moved it about 4 feet parallel to my left and "no more feedback and was able to turn compact volume up to 12 noon and tonematch volume master volume at 1200 noon. I fell in love! ( Don't even ask where this "experienced musician" had it placed prior to moving it! ) Sometimes the answer is so simple that you just don't even think of it! Now the only thing I have to do is create scenes for my Model II and Compact and saving them so I don't have to readjust everything depending on which system I am using. I have never created scenes before so I better dig out the Manuel.
All is well!!!!

That's great news AJ!
Creating and saving scenes is a piece of cake and it really helps. If you can anticipate several applications in advance, you can have the appropriate scene ready to call up at the gig. Then just make a few minor adjustments and be good to go.

Hi Lou

I was successful in scene saving! I have been playing steady on it for 7 hours with my keyboard. I slected "General Keyboard" in preferences and selected BYPass on all EQ settings and let my keyboard internal accompaniment EQ's prevail,,,,,,Awesome sounds coming from this conmpact! Our vocals are really nice and my wife simply can't belive that we are not singing thru our Model II. Yes, it different but it's very pleasing. Next I will hook up the Laptop to see how that is going to sound thru it........This thing is just blowing us away!
"What a difference a day makes" LOL!
