I do about 50-60 weddings a year. This doesn't include other types of events I do throughout the year. I was going to record a set up today but I had to go get an extension cord. I didn't want to set up and tell everyone it's all set up but then couldn't produce sound because I had to go back to the van to get an extension cord. So next week I'll post a video of me setting up. I also own a Dodge Caravan to haul my gear.

Are you calling for help? Razz

Actually, I'm looking forward to the demo. Always something to learn here.

no, my cell phone has video recording....

Brian, I was up several floors in the city in a building that has a very small elevator. It would have taken forever to get it. I want to be able to go from everything on my handtruck in the venue and set up and have sound in 5 minutes or less.

Next, we'll start a thread to see who can set up the quickest!! Big Grin

But in the meantime, as promised. I set up a 4B1 1 L1 in a gym. Wheeled cart in and once I take the first item off the cart it's timed. I did have about a 20 second issue with twisted cables that I normally do not have, secondly having to talk to a few people about hmmm, 20 seconds. So all in all a little over 5 minutes including the small interruptions. * THIS SETUP IS NOT APPROVED BY BOSE IN ANY WAY, DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK!*

setup from audience view:

setup 2 from audience view:

Their state of the art sound system... Four JBLs in a four round set up in the ceiling. They only have two sets of these. A total of eight. I got a couple of shots from far away and up close. Looked like 15's and a horn. Never heard them, but then again, they hire my to do sound for these events. Hmmm, could be the clarity of Bose in my favor. BTW, my videos were recorded from my iphone. Apparently a few of the vids are over modulated, but not because of the Bose L1's. I'm sure the mic on the iphone was screaming....

Hopefully this gives you a good idea of how big the gym is:

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the post. You made me tired. I figured something like that went into it. A very impressive presentation.

At what age do you think you will need a helper? Gee, all that by yourself! I can't imagine doing all of that but of course all I have to do is play for old dancers.

What was the real time to unload and setup?

What was the real time to breakdown and load?

Can you give me a ballpark on what is charged for something like that?

Are these videos and pictures getting recycled, or is it just me?
