Hi - I'm a newbie here. Just bought a Model2 and ToneMatch for my Solo Act using my Sure SM58 (no problem there) and my Yamaha Tyros 3.

Am swaying between about 6 or 7 different Presets for the Keys. Any recommendations?

Freddie

Hi Freddie,

Based on some information I picked up last night at the PSR Tutorial site - Bose System Other Users? discussion here is a list of Presets that others there have recommended.

The first number is the Version 2 or 3 Preset that was recommended on that site. Following that is the equivalent on the T1®.

05 is Category Vocal Mics| Preset: Audix OM-5
12 is Category Vocal Mics| Preset: Neumann KMS105
55 is Category Special| Preset: Accordion w/Limex MP
57 is Category DJ/Playback| Preset: Low volume music

Of course you will want to try
Category Keyboards | Preset General Keys

There were some follow up comments
Follow up from Eddie where he gave us his thinking behind the original recommendations.

Thanks ST. I'm the same Freddie/Fruityfj as posted the original question on the PSR Tutorial site. So I have seen this detail.

I was pursuing it over here on this Forum to see if there was something more keyboard specific.

I haven't yet tried any of those combinations, which I'm just about to with the list of the equivalents you gave me for the Model 2 with ToneMatch.

There is of course no substitute for your own ears and judgement but I wanted to try to short circuit the elimination process.

Thanks for your help - I continue to be impressed by the Bose after-Sales service

I've now had a chance to try over some of those settings suggested.

None of them are quite right yet but I could see - or rather hear - not just what the differences were but also the potential. The response was - of course - varied, better with some combinations of voice and style for some songs than others. And some were SO good, SO apt, that I was laughing aloud for sheer pleasure (good job I live on my own now) and couldn't stop playing that song - and others of the same genre - over and over again. And I long to get my favourite audiences/venues hearing it. They'll think it's a new "me". Well it is Smile.

Now I can see in what general direction I'm headed. And I'm really enjoying it.

Obviously I've got to find a Preset that's first of all suitable for that venue. And after that, one to suit all genres of songs. So I think I must try to go in earlier and do more sound checks. I've recorded quite a few songs I can playback and go to listen at the back of the hall/club/wherever.

Inevitably it'll be about compromise - it nearly always is, but I can see that I'm going to be approaching achieving so much more - in playing standards, the accuracy of the sound response is so good that it's pretty unforgiving of a muffed note, after all - and in my own sheer satisfaction in actually playing - at all.

I am SO enjoying this! Thank you.

I set my yamaha keyboard at preset Category Keyboards | Preset General Keys. Works fine for me as does my SM 58 preset.

Thanks for that AJ. Yes - that's certainly one of the settings I use. I've found it also best to the EQ flat on the KB but the Compressor on +4 and then set the EQ on the Bose but with the Compressor bypassed.

Getting there!
