I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new systems on Monday. I use the C419 for alto, tenor & bari. Any thoughts on what pre-sets sound best with this mike? I have a pretty bright sound, as I tend to play high baffle metal mouthpieces.

Saxhound,
My 10-piece band (4 horns) use wireless clipons as well. Both saxes (alto/tenor & tenor/bari) much preferred the sound of the Shure clip on - is it the WM-98? - and thought the c-419 was a bit edgy and bright. Both trumpets, however (me being one), use the 419. On the old preset list - typically we have used flat (00) settings, but I have yet to try the mic through the new presets. My suggestion is to start flat, and experiment, letting your ears (rather than a preset title) judge the sound. Let us know what you end up with! Ken |

Ken,
I guess I like edgy & bright. I thought the WM-98 sounded a little dull and lifeless when I tested it unless you really jacked the EQ. It's hard to get a decent test in a music store. They had me plugged in through so many devices that I wasn't sure how much was the mike versus the PA. I should probably give it another chance with the PAS. I keep hearing good things about the AMT systems, but they need to design a better clamp. It takes a couple minutes to move it from one horn to another. I'll let you know of my results. Regards, Bob |

Isn't that why we all choose differently?
I am looking into AMT's mics, especially the Roam1's - check some other postings here on the forum, reviewing AMT mics, by using the search function. Good luck finding "your" sound! Ken |

I have a nice sound from a C419 pointing it more at the valves.
