Hi

I have recently purchased an L1 II PAS with tone match and I am enjoying experimenting with the different sounds with my alto and soprano saxophones using an SM57 microphone. I have set the tone match to Alto or Soprano/SM58 but was wondering if anybody could share any great sounds they have found using a combination of additional effect settings, together with associated sub settings such as mix percentage, depth etc whilst also experimenting?

Hi markemark,

Please tell us more about your music:

  • Are you playing with an ensemble, backing tracks, or ...
  • What kind(s) of music you play?
  • Where you do it (size, type of venue)?
  • Who is there (audience) - how many, what are they doing while you are performing?
  • Do you have a web site?
  • If no web site, could you post a picture of your ensemble?

The answers to the first few questions will help in terms of thinking about how you might apply effects.

Thanks!

Hi ST

I mainly play/improvise around solo jazz/pop standards with backing tracks in pubs as background music using a Roland CD2 or an ancient ipod. I also play in a modern Baptist church (no acoustics) most Sundays to approximately 150 people, with a guitarist/singer.

I have the tone match set to Alto/Soprano with SM58, although I would like to buy a clip-on condenser microphone. I add to this compression (setting 2 chorus) and a bit of delay.

I would perhaps like to experiment with harmonizers such as the Digitech Vocalist live 4.

Any advice from your experience would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

Marekmark

Hi Markemark,

Thanks for all that great information. I am sorry that I don't have much direct experience to bring to this situation.

Let's hope that others will join in.

PS

Your Location says "Yes". Where are you?
