In my on-going quest for the "best" microphones within my budget..

Following some advice, I recently bought an AKG c3000b large-diaphragm mic for my Border bagpipes. It is tricky to mic the bagpipe chanter because the sound of different notes comes out of different fingerholes (spaced over about 5 inches). The AKG mic does a good job of picking up the sound from all the notes. Seems to be the best solution so far. As far as I can tell there isn't a preset on the T1, but a flat setting seems to work OK.

I'm using an Audix OM-5 for my whistles (low and high - D); works well if you play really close to the microphone.

Cheers
