I sold my L1 with the intentions of getting the new Compact. After listing it and selling it on Craigslist within 4 days I quickly picked up the Compact at GC along with the Tone Match. I was not disappointed.
Having suffered a stroke almost 2 years ago, I needed to keep my gear as small and light as possible. A last minute call came to play at a local arts and music festival. My main concern was having to play outside and knowing the Compact was recommended for venues holding 100. I was hoping to not have taken too big a step down from the L1 model. Load in and setup was a breeze. Besides the Compact, I carried a bag holding the Tone Match and all the cables, my sax and wireless mic. I hooked my Ipod to the mini-stereo input and my mic into the Tone Match using simple reverb. After balancing tracks with sax I was rolling along with the gig. I was in the front court of the courthouse and along the street were numerous vendor booths in tents. My daughter was in the front to help me monitor the balance of things. I had the Compact placed behind me and could hear everything perfectly. I was glad to hear that full rich bass that I was afraid would be lost outside. Incredible considering the size of the system. I had a vendor from a block down request I turn down a notch since he couldn't converse clearly enough with his customers. But he was one out of maybe 50 along that block. Passing walkers would stop and I knew they were checking out this cool sleek tower. Plenty of compliments amidst the applause. Gig one down... rated successful! I loaded everything into the back of my Insight and look forward to the gig with it. I hope to add in my EWI 4000s or WX5. Count me as another "Extremely Satisfied Compact Owner." Eugene |

Hi Eugene
I have not used my Compact outside yet and was wondering what volume settings you used on Channel 2 of the compact "and" the Master Volume of the Tonematch?. Thanks! AJ |

Channel 2 was probably not even a third of capacity. Tonematch master was maybe 25-30% for the area. The resulting sound was very clean and full. I usually don't go any more than that on the Main unit and adjust on the input levels. I was using a Shure wireless and an Ipod plugged directly into the Compact unit.
