Quoting jdnell from The Sketcher
quote:
The Lodge Brothers
Old-tyme fiddle & banjo, Americana, Celtic, Bluegrass style of music

1. Fiddle player also plays claw-hammer style banjo and acoustic guitar. He also plays mandolin on some songs.

2. Mandolin player also plays the acoustic guitar on songs. Both up-front performers (1 & 2) switch instruments regularly and do all vocals.

3. Bass player uses a K&K Bass Max pickup into an Acoustic Image Contra amp on very low volume. Used only to supplement volume on Kay upright on stage. Run direct-out of amp into independent channel on mixer for PA system.

NOTES:
Fiddle is only other instrument with a pickup installed. Runs thru a Fishman preamp into an independent channel on mixer for PA system.

Bass player monitors/controls mixer and sound mix for the group.

AKG-C1000S mics used for instruments
SM58 mics used for vocals

Thanks for all the great information. Please tell us a bit about the places you perform (audience size, types of venues, size of venues), and a little about what the audience is doing during your performances.

While I am thinking about something specific for you, you might enjoy this article about Bluegrass and the L1™
