Four Players, four Bose® systems.
Note the double B1 units for both the bass and drums.

From left to right:
Jan: Vocals and Guitar (Variax)
Gene: Guitar, Theremin (didn't know how to draw that) and Mandolin (Channel 1 for lead guitar, Channel 2 for Mandolin, Channel 3 for Theremin)
Phil: Bass
George: Drums (Channel 1 for kick drum mic, Channel 2 for single overhead, or several mics into a small mixer run into Channel 2)

Have been using AH 16 channel Mix Wizard DX board, 2 mackie powered 1521s speakers, 2 EV SX A180's powered Subs...

Have one stick and 2 subs for duo gig... What additions would you recommend to be able to make the complete switch from traditional set up...

BTW... We use Line 6 Variax guitars, with Pods. No AMPS!

Thanks in Advance,

Jan,

Given the amount of air you are pushing with your existing system I have shown your setup with the ideal of four Bose® systems.

Hi ST, Thanks for quick reply!

Here a some more Questions...some stages are triangle, square, retangular, etc, with out having to draw out such beautiful detailed drawings such as you so kindly did before, would you be able to outline such sceanarios as I just mentioned? OR perhaps that is a bit premature, since we only have the one solo/duo stick set up so far...

More importantly to begin with is, how to transition over to the set ups you drew out! I am wondering if we could only do 3 sticks w/subs, for instance? Plus our drummer has been considering purchasing an electronic drum set. How would that change things?

Seems to me that 4th stick may become even more important in that situation, or maybe not? Don't they still have only 2 outputs? ...mmm...

Well in process of selling off an American Strat, a hand made concert Sitar, and whatever else to try and come up with the $ for at least one more stick/subs as that would make for a much better sounding Duo/Trio set up in the interum.

Rest assured some of us in the band lie awake pondering these very questions!

Thanks for your help!

Jan

Hi Jan,

If you had to make do with three systems, you could run bass and drums through one system with a double B1 (bass unit). This would involve using a small mixer.

In your existing system: How is the bass amplified?

Interestingly, things get simpler with an electronic drum set because you don't have to setup microphones and a mixer. This is all done in the "digital" domain and this might eliminate the need for a mixer.

As far as different setups (odd and various room shapes), I am working on illustrating some general principles that you could strive to achieve in any situation.

More soon...

Jan,

Here is one approach for using three Bose® systems instead of four.

Edit by ST ...

I have moved this to A new thread

hI i HAVE BEEN TO A DEMONSTRATION OF BOSE IN UTRECHT(HOLLAND)
WE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A SUGGESTION FOR A TYPICAL SET UP
we ARE A BAND CONSISTING OF:

EL. BASS
el.GUITAR (STEREO)
AC. GUITAR
ELECTRONIC DRUMS (STEREO)
KEYS (STEREO)
5X VOCALS

EL.AND AC. GUITAR ARE SOMETIMES PLAYED
SIMOULTANEOUS
WE PLAY AL KINDS OF MUSIC BUT MOSTLY FOR PARTY ANS DANCING. AVERAGE CROWD IS 100 SOMETIMES LARGER BUT NEVER MORE THAN 300. THE KICKDRUM SIGNAL CAN BE ROUTED SEPERATEDLY FROM THE MODULE
